Reviews
This was our first time staying at Cabot Beach Provincial Park and we will definitely be back! We stayed in the serviced sites, they were large and easy to pull though. The washrooms were always clean and well stocked, the wifi worked really well (not normally something we use, but should be mentioned!). Just a few minutes from Kensington where you can find restaurants, cafes, groceries, gas etc... The best part was the beautiful red sand beach where dogs are allowed! Our pup had a great time and we also enjoyed a swim, the water was still pretty warm. And on most nights you'll be able to enjoy great sunset views, they even have benches where you can sit and just relax. Great spot, highly recommend.
Beautiful spot, just wish I had been there when the sun was shining. Lovely beach, with lifeguards. Camping on site.
Beautiful beach! Went at almost low tide and completely enjoyed the sand bars, rocks, and silky red sand. Great park for the kids, hoses to rinse off, and the dog in the photo isn't ours. Just a collie butt in the water, which made me laugh.
Can't believe how warm the water is this far north, but it was a beautiful beach day
Close quarter adjacent lot camping side by side in an open, large field so privacy is non existent. The plus side is folks are extremely friendly and helpful.
Clean, well maintained restrooms, hot showers, WIFI, laundry, firewood for purchase. The red sand beach surrounded by Malpeque Bay makes it all worth it staying here. About the only downside here was mosquitoes a lot of them all day as well as some horse flies at the beach. Bring a lot of bug spray.
We were here yesterday for a family reunion....
The area we had was perfect.
Large trees for shade
The beach only minutes away
Cottage rentals also on this property
Windy!! Came here at low tide. A big expansive beach. There's a beach-friendly wheelchair. Very nice!
The campground was nice, although more like a parking lot than a traditional campsite. What I mean by this is that there is no trees or cover between campsites and it is placed in a grid-like fashion. Not the end of the world, sites were large with a small dirt pit for campfires.
The beach was nice, saw plenty of crabs, hermit crabs, minnows and jellyfish, which was an absolute blast (bring goggles). If you have young children I'd keep a close eye on them as a harbour or bay nearby empties out with a strong current past the sandbar.
They had daily activities posted in the washroom. Of the few we went to we enjoyed them.
The biggest complaints I would say I have (and they are barely an inconvience but are worth mentioning), is that the provided park map looks like it was hand drawn from someone squinting at Google maps from across the room and in the men's washroom the toilet seat in the standard stall is spring activated, which is more frustrating in my opinion then having to clean up the last guys mess.
We stayed here for two nights during a trip to the East Coast. While the beach was lovely and the views fantastic, there were a couple major downsides to bring down our review.
Upsides:
Gorgeous view, right along the ocean coast. The beach is a beautiful red sand beach and neat to explore. The sunsets at this campground were stunning.
Washrooms: Though very basic they were clean and well stocked.
Downsides:
Mosquitos: There were mosquitos. SO many mosquitoes. We had hoped they were bad just because we arrived at dusk, but we found out quickly that they were around all day. Most people had to escape to their trailers to avoid them (our neighbour even purchased a screen room in order to be able to stand it there!).
Lack of privacy: Due to the fact we had a serviced site, we were in a wide open area with no trees. Literally no privacy or shelter from one campsite to the next. Again, the view was fantastic, but would be nicer if there were a few more trees.
